Frances

Chilean flamingos (Phoenicopterus chilensis) are native to the southern and western parts of South America. They are one of the larger species of flamingo, averaging about 4 feet tall. Like all flamingos, they get there pink color from the carotenoids in their diet.

Frances was hand-raised and friendly towards people. While she was growing, she had to be taken on regular walks to help strengthen her long legs. It took her a little while to fit into the flock and she was a bit distant from them for a while, but eventually she learned to behave like a proper flamingo and is living happily with the rest of the flock.
