Description
Red-necked wallabies (Notamacropus rufogriseus) are native to
eastern Australia. They are medium-sized macropods, growing up to about 3
feet tall. Females only have one joey in pouch at a time. The babies
stay in the pouch for about 280 days and stay with their mother for
another month afterwards.
Peanut was kicked out of his
pouch when he was a hairless little baby. He was moved to a little
fabric pouch in a temperature controlled area and required round the
clock care and feeding. It took him a while to stabilize and get back on
track, but eventually he grew up into a sassy little boy and could
rejoin the rest of the mob. He is spoiled and a bit of a brat, but
everyone loves him, usually leading to him being spoiled even more.
